Last Sunday (Oct/11) my husband and I visited our parents' friends who just came back from Taiwan.

They wanted to give us some gifts so we went there to chat with them.

After we left their house, it was dinner time so we decided to have dinner in Edison.

Because their house was near Happy Edison Noddle, we went there to eat our dinner.

Its owner is Taiwanese so the food tastes like as Taiwanese food.

If you want to try Taiwanese food, you should go there.

(Their menu is written in Chinese and English so if you can’t read Chinese, it is ok.)

We just ordered four dishes because there was only my husband and I who were there.

I posted pictures with my article. Please enjoy!

 

1.Beef noodle soup(Beef Stew/Beef Tendon):

Ture to its name, Happy Edison Noddle, this restaurant is famous for its Beef Noddle Soup.

If you go to other restaurants and want to order beef noddle soup, you have only one choice, beef stew noddle soup.

But in this restaurant, you have other choices.

First, you can choose beef stew or beef tendon for your noodle soup or both of them.

Second, you can choose the kind of noddle you like, such as noddle, vermicelli or rice noddle.

Third, you can choose the soup, beef flavor or house special soup. (I always eat beef flavor so I can’t com[are the two.)

At last, there is a bowl of pickled mustard on each table; you can add as much as you need into your noddle soup. (You can see the pickle vegetable on the right side of picture.)

In Taiwan, we usually add sour and salty pickled vegetables to balance the fatty taste of beef noddle soup.

By the way, pickled mustard is made of fresh mustard with salt.

After pickled, the

mustard vegetable will taste less bitter and be crispy.

2.Beef and Pancake:

This dish is made of scallion pancake, beef stew and scallion.

The scallion and beef stew are rolled in the scallion pancake and some sweet sauce is added.

If you took a bite, you could feel the chemistry of food in your mouth.

The pancake was tender and smelled good because it was fried in oil before it was rolled.

The beef was tender and the scallion was a little bit spicy.

Most important was the sweet sauce. It made everything perfect!

It balanced the spicy scallion and made the beef juicier!

We love this dish!

3. Fried Chicken Cutlet: (Taiwanese Style)

It is easy to find fried chicken in the USA but not this one.

The Taiwanese style fried chicken cutlet is made from chicken breast.

As you know, chicken breast is also called chicken tender, and the chicken cutlet is tender and juicy.

But the outer bread crumbs are not my style, it is not crispy enough.

Some people like it less crispy but I like it deep fried.

In my opinion, this one is not as good as the one I ate in Taiwan but it is probably the best in this area (in the center of NJ).

4. Fried Chicken Roll (Pork Roll):

As I mentioned in another article, the chicken roll is made from tofu skin, pork and vegetables.

There is no chicken meat in this chicken roll!

Honestly I didn’t like this dish because it tasted like a spring roll.

There were too many vegetables and it fell apart very easily when you ate it.

The stuffing of a chicken roll should be stick together when you eat it ,or else it will taste like a spring roll.

There is one thing that I do recommend; it is the dip, sweet and spicy sauce.

5.Taiwanese Appetizers:

Although I didn’t order any appetizer this time, I would recommend them to you.

These are very typical Taiwanese appetizers. We love to eat them before the meal.

I know that not everyone likes to eat internal organs but you can try bean curd, braised egg, seaweed, tendon and beef.

In summer, we love to drink cold beer with these appetizers and chat with friends.

It will release your pressure!
